Happy Birthday

Charles Bukowski
1920-1994
I read a lot of Bukowski. He's always good, but every once in a while he throws in an extraordinary line that is just phenomenal and just leaves me breathless. Here is such a line from a recent book.
"Life can be vacant like the inside of old shoes while dogs howl in the rain."
